How Does Airbrush Tanning Work?

The principle tanning agent used in all tanning products is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This ingredient, which is derived from natural sugar cane, reacts with the amino acids in the skin to create the darkening or tanned appearance on the surface of the skin. The development of color takes anywhere from 1-12 hours and the intensity of color depends on DHA concentration in the product as well as each person’s skin characteristics. The color will gradually fade through natural skin exfoliation just like a natural tan from the sun.

What Is The Process Like?

I Booked A House Call, Where Will You Be Setting Up The Spray Tan Area?

I recommend that you provide a space that can accommodate a 4x4x7 tent that offers adequate lighting and a nearby outlet. I prefer a non-carpeted room with good ventilation, if available.

What Do I Wear During The Session?

You are welcome to wear as little or as much as you are comfortable with during your session. Please keep tan lines in mind. Once sprayed, tan lines cannot be filled in or blended.

Will I Turn Orange?

Not in my studio. I take pride in using top of the line organic, vegan, and gluten-free solutions that have very natural + clean ingredients. I also carry multiple different base tones/DHA percentages to customize each clients color to perfection after we do a quick color consult on your desired darkness depth.

How Many Days Before My Special Event Should I Schedule My Appointment?

I always suggest scheduling your tan 1-2 days before any major event. I recommend showering at least twice leading up to the event as this will ensure the bronzer used in the solution is completely rinsed off your skin to avoid any color transferring to clothing. Click here to book.

Will The Spray Tan Stain My Clothes, Sheets, Couch, Or Other Fabrics?

The solution I use contains a bronzer for temporary, immediate color. As a result, I recommend you wear loose-fitting, dark clothes after your airbrush tanning session to minimize the chance of the bronze color transferring to your clothes or sheets. However, my solutions are water soluble and will wash out if contact occurs. Make sure to cover leather seats or furniture and avoid direct contact as your airbrush tan solution may stain certain leathers and silks in the first 2-3 days.

Is Airbrush Tanning Safe For Expectant Or Nursing Mothers?

My solutions of choice are both organic and vegan. However, I advise you to consult with your physician before you get an airbrush tan. DHA is only approved by the FDA for external application. All pregnant women MUST wear nose plugs during their tanning session. All nursing mothers MUST cover their nipples during their tanning session. Please notify me if you think you may be pregnant, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Can Anyone Book A Tan?

I am able to serve both males and females for any in-studio services as well as house calls. Any girls under the age of 18 will need a signed form of consent from their parent or legal guardian with contact info, unless your guardian is present. Undergarments are required for males of any age and girls under 18. No exceptions. Click here to book.

How Does Payment Work?

For In-Studio appointments, payment will be completed at the end of the session via cash, card, or Venmo.

For Mobile appointments, payment must be made in full via Venmo within 24 hours of booking or the appointment time will be released.

Gratuity is not required, but greatly appreciated.
